Airbrush Spray Tanning Tips

Discover airbrush spray tanning tips right here. Having a tan can make you look and feel better about yourself, plus it makes you look healthier. This is the safest way to get a tan, sitting out in the sun or even going to a tanning beds can cause premature aging, skin cancer, or even sunburn. Avoid these by getting a spray tan that does not cause you any harm whatsoever.

A few hints for mist tan techniques for before you actually get your suntan will help it to last longer, look better and more natural. Start by applying some moisturizer into your knees, elbows and your hands before getting sprayed. Plus you will want to cover your hair with a shower cap and cover the bottoms of your feet, this prevents any buildup of tan on the soles of feet, which does not look natural at all.

A mist tan works by covering you from head to toe in a light mist that is dispersed through a spraying gun. The reason for the airbrush spray tanning tip about the moisturizer on your hands, elbows and knees is that these areas are normally dryer than the rest of your body and the tan material may not be absorbed evenly. The moisturizer gives these areas hydration and helps the tan to look more natural.

You do not have to worry about any hint for misting techniques for not getting the spray in your mouth because the mist is blown downward to avoid getting it in your nose and mouth. The heat from the airflow helps the tan mist to dry and be absorbed quickly so there is no waiting before you must get dressed again. This makes this type of tan that you can even get during your lunch hour if you work.

Other brush mist tan hints are to go for the lighter tan first and build it up. There is nothing worse than getting a glow that is too dark for you and having it look fake. The more that is applied the more risk there is of having it streak.

The morning of your appointment make sure you use a non greasy scrub to exfoliate your skin, particularly your knees and elbows, even though you are going to have a moisturizer applied it is best to do this before you get your color applied. Other areas that can absorb more of the mist are your neck and chest, and of course your face.

If you have any scabs or cuts coat them in Vaseline before you go to your appointment. If you use any harsh Retin-A or over the counter retinoid talk to your doctor before getting this procedure done.

The active ingredients can cause a blotchy glow and that looks awful. Also make sure you dress for the occasion. Even though most tanners will not affect your clothing it is better to be safe than sorry. These few airbrushing spraying tan hints will help you to get a great glow and have it last longer.

Very believable color - without streaks or funny smell! from Glastonbury, CT Verified Purchaser
This is the best self tanner I ever used. The color looks totally natural - brown, not the orange look I've had from virtually every other tanner. The brown color guide helps a lot, so there is not streaking whatsoever. My best advice would be to keep washing your hands frequently as you apply the tanner. The first time I used it, I didn't wash my hands until the end and it took me literally ten minutes to get all the rubbed in color off my hands. I also needed to use a pumice. But the good news is my palms had no hint of color on them in the morning, so the pumice idea is actually great. Review posted 6/25/2012.

Very natural looking tan. from Toronto, ON Verified Purchaser
The tan I got was very close to my natural color of a tan. Doesn't have the usual self-tanner scent - smells like almonds. I apply it every other day to maintain the color. Stains hands a lot even if you wash them immediately after and will stain your bedding as well (but washes away without a trace on white sheets). Palms of your hands return to normal color by the afternoon the next day. One bottle lasts for approximately 2-3 weeks with every other day application on a petite body. Review posted 6/16/2012.

Very Natural Tan from Evanston, IL Verified Purchaser
I've tried many 'high end' tanning products and this lotion produces by far the most natural tan. At first I was a bit shocked at how dark the lotion was, but in applying it, the color was a plus because it made it obvious when I was putting too much on one area of skin. I've never bothered to write a review before. This product more than deserves praise. I use it all the time now, even in winter for just a light bit of color. Review posted 11/12/2012.

Very good, realistic color from a self-tanner from Ipswich, MA Verified Purchaser
The best quality of this self-tanner is that it contains a color guide that actually stains your skin (some of it washes off, but part of the color guide remains and is long lasting) and so the color guard tint adds to the DHA self-tanner color...this makes the resulting 'tan' more realistic than a DHA self-tan alone would be. Normally I avoid self-tanners with color guides as they tend to be messy, to stain clothing and look dirty, but this product's color guide actually has a purpose in that it improves the final tan color. That usually isn't the case, especially with most drugstore self-tanners. Also, this product has very little of that unattractive self-tanner scent. Lastly, because the concentration of DHA is quite high, you use less (one or two coats) to get a dark color, but you avoid being orange because of the residual stain of the color guide. The end result is a reddish brown tan color. This is pricey, but will last a long time and a worthwhile investment if you tend to turn orange with self-tanners. Good product!
