St. Tropez Self Tanner

Advice For Applying St. Tropez Self Tanner EffectivelyA faultless tan commences with a pre-tanning routine. Do not take shortcuts with St. Tropez self tanner. Proper preparation before applying the tanner makes the skin ready for the process hence the tan lasts longer. Begin with a body polisher which ensures that your skin is fresh, smooth and ready for tanning. Preferable, use it in the morning on the day you wish to apply the tanner. Applying it for two or three days will ensure that the tanner fades evenly.

Thereafter, use the body moisturizer. This should be directed to dry body areas prior to tanning. It ensures that St. Tropez self tanner does not stick to some areas like the hands, feet and knees. When you opt for the tinted St. Tropez self tanner lotion, you must start by taking a bath using the body polisher applied to the wash cloth. It will get rid of excess dry skin. If you have too much hair on your body, you may shave.

After taking your bath, apply moisturizer on your whole body. Repeat this in the evening just before you go to bed. This time, apply on dry areas. This may include ankles, hands, hairlines, elbows, and feet. The St. Tropez self tanner product makes the entire skin evenly porous and aids in ensuring the hands do not get stained. Alternatively you may employ the use of latex gloves to shield your hands.

Now apply St. Tropez self tanner smoothly on your body including the face. Make sure it is even and you should leave it a little bit wet. This gives it the chance to get absorbed into the skin. Over rubbing it will make you wipe it off thus you may not get the desired outcomes.

To make sure that the tan is maintained, begin application from your feet moving up the body. Afterwards, use St. Tropez self tanner remover to get rid of tanner from your palms. Alternatively you may wash hands with soap with the aid of a scrub brush. Follow this by applying St. Tropez self tanner body moisturizer to the top side of the hands then St. Tropez self tanner. Use your hands to rub the lotion evenly on the top side of your hands up to the tip of the fingers. This will ensure that palms do not tan during the process.

Stay for about 10 to 15 minutes before you get to bed. This gives the tanning time to get absorbed into your skin. You may realize that you have streaks all over. This should not worry you. It will disappear in about three hours as the color deepens.

In the morning, take a bath to wash off tanner that was not absorbed. This will ensure that the tanner does not get applied to your clothes during the day. Use St. Tropez self tanner moisturizer after taking your bath. For you to achieve a good base tan, apply St. Tropez self tanner for three successive nights.

Avoid using the body polisher on the second and third days of using St. Tropez self tanner. Nevertheless, you should remember to shower. Just be careful not to scrub yourself.

Very believable color - without streaks or funny smell! from Glastonbury, CT Verified Purchaser
This is the best self tanner I ever used. The color looks totally natural - brown, not the orange look I've had from virtually every other tanner. The brown color guide helps a lot, so there is not streaking whatsoever. My best advice would be to keep washing your hands frequently as you apply the tanner. The first time I used it, I didn't wash my hands until the end and it took me literally ten minutes to get all the rubbed in color off my hands. I also needed to use a pumice. But the good news is my palms had no hint of color on them in the morning, so the pumice idea is actually great. Review posted 6/25/2012.

Very natural looking tan. from Toronto, ON Verified Purchaser
The tan I got was very close to my natural color of a tan. Doesn't have the usual self-tanner scent - smells like almonds. I apply it every other day to maintain the color. Stains hands a lot even if you wash them immediately after and will stain your bedding as well (but washes away without a trace on white sheets). Palms of your hands return to normal color by the afternoon the next day. One bottle lasts for approximately 2-3 weeks with every other day application on a petite body. Review posted 6/16/2012.

Very Natural Tan from Evanston, IL Verified Purchaser
I've tried many 'high end' tanning products and this lotion produces by far the most natural tan. At first I was a bit shocked at how dark the lotion was, but in applying it, the color was a plus because it made it obvious when I was putting too much on one area of skin. I've never bothered to write a review before. This product more than deserves praise. I use it all the time now, even in winter for just a light bit of color. Review posted 11/12/2012.

Very good, realistic color from a self-tanner from Ipswich, MA Verified Purchaser
The best quality of this self-tanner is that it contains a color guide that actually stains your skin (some of it washes off, but part of the color guide remains and is long lasting) and so the color guard tint adds to the DHA self-tanner color...this makes the resulting 'tan' more realistic than a DHA self-tan alone would be. Normally I avoid self-tanners with color guides as they tend to be messy, to stain clothing and look dirty, but this product's color guide actually has a purpose in that it improves the final tan color. That usually isn't the case, especially with most drugstore self-tanners. Also, this product has very little of that unattractive self-tanner scent. Lastly, because the concentration of DHA is quite high, you use less (one or two coats) to get a dark color, but you avoid being orange because of the residual stain of the color guide. The end result is a reddish brown tan color. This is pricey, but will last a long time and a worthwhile investment if you tend to turn orange with self-tanners. Good product! Smells great! from pomona, NY
I was weary of trying out this product at first...however I am glad I did. It smells AMAZING. Dries very quickly. It WILL stain your hands, but you can scrub your palms with pumice after if not wearing gloves. It's a nice even application with minimal streaking after day 2 and 3 (like most products) Review posted 7/7/2012.
